Mimfam Automatic Self Cleaning Litter Box, with 4 Pairs Infrared Senor, Open-Top Design for Multi-Cat Homes, Comes with Liner Bags and Cat Litter Mat, Grey

If you’re tired of scooping a shared litter box every day, this Mimfam self-cleaning model is aimed at making that chore less constant for multi-cat homes.

The open-top design is the main thing to notice here: it’s easier for cats to step into, and it may feel less boxed-in than a covered unit. The 4 pairs of infrared sensors are there to keep the cleaning cycle from running while a cat is inside, which is the kind of basic safety feature you want in an automatic box. The included liner bags and litter mat also save you a separate purchase, at least to start. It suits you if you want a simpler setup and don’t mind a more open look. Skip it if your cats are very shy, kick litter hard, or prefer a fully enclosed box, since the open design won’t contain mess or odor as well as a covered model can. At around $99.99, it’s a fairly accessible entry point if you want to try automatic cleaning without spending a lot up front.
